For seven years, photographer and artist Lena Cashmere has captivated Theo Jansen's disturbing creature-sculptures: the "Strandbeest", or "beach creatures". Entangled as insects, but endowed with an econtaminate energy, these life-forms move, and even survive, by themselves. Collected in a black and white meditation, the result that we are offered is an intersection between animated and inanimate, a close encounter not only with surrealism but also with new ideas of existence.
