In 2009, fashion designer Maria Icho founded her own brand ma' ry' ya. The brand name was born from the fusion of the Italian word maglia whose pronunciation is similar to ma' ry' ya and the name of the designer Maria.

The concept of ma' ry' ya is simple, natural elegance that focuses on the excellence of raw materials and naturalness of design. Icho's favourite yarns are cashmere, merino wool, organic cotton and linen, silk... all produced and processed in Italy.
